The 27"s fit just fine without a lift kit.

I don't know- the 589's are much rougher on hard pack and black topthan the Dirt Devils- and the DD's are also six ply. I've owned them both and t's just my opinion that the Dirt Devils are much, much better all around tires than the 589's. I ran 4lbs in the ITP's and 4 in the Dirt Devils. It also seemed like in thick mud, the 589's would just dig straight down, not out. Maybe because they have no side wall bite.

 

the reason i ask is i have two buddys one with an 03 and my other bud is getting an 04 and he is getting 26" mud lites.and thought that 27" might need a lift kit.

Yeah, the dealer swore up and down that I'd need a lift, but I didn't at all. I would advise to fro him to get the High Lifter Hidh Performance kit for the Rubicon. Without it, the engine might not be as strong as he'd like with those big tires. I have the kit and I love what it's done.

 

I looked at the Dirt Devils before I bought the ITP 589MS tires. With the DDs you don't get the really deep treat until you go to the 26" tire and I wanted to stay with the stock sizes on my Foreman. I didn't want the power loss and increased steering effort with the bigger tires.

 

Still got the stockers on my Rincon, but they suc* for rocky trail riding. Have read a lot of good things on various forums about DD's & Kenda Bearclaws- at least for the type of riding I do.
