K&N Air Filtration
#1
OK guys, what gives? I was thinking seriously about a K&N air filter for my Rincon; but after reading a lot on the forums about sucking a lot of dirt along with the air into the engine, I'm not sure. A friend has the K&N on his Rubi and says it stays clean a lot longer than the stock foam. He rides with someone with a Grizzly who has the stock foam filter, and my friend says it gets dirty fast. Proves the point about the K&N letting more dirt into the engine? I've had good luck with K&N in automotive use, but there is a lot less dirt & dust on concrete/asphalt.

Get a K&N filter then use an OuterWear pre-filter sleeve on it. Many people who use K&Ns use these sleeves they will keep the smaller stuff out and keep the filter itself from getting dirty as quick. You will love the results of the K&N filter combined with a pipe kit (if you don't already have one) the RINCON responds very well.

Deuce is right, if you get the outerwear it will not let more dirt in. Also, it is a good idea to clean and oil your filter after every trip. I have been doing this for two years with no problems whatsoever. the outerwears are great I even use one on my truck

Like the others stated, it's all about how you maintain your filter. Always take time, and care to make sure it's installed correctly also. I've seen people rush things, then not have them totally sealed.....that's not the filter's fault. Thanksguys for the benefit of your experience and insight. Modquad- will the Simple Green also work as a degreaser on the stock foam element in place of kerosene?
