a brand new 2 stroke from honda! wouldn't THAT be somethin'?!

 

I am in agreement. Sure the Raptor & 400Ex are sports quads but that is where the similarities end. The Raptor is in the DS650 class not the 400EX. Comparing the two is like me comparing my Rancher to a Grizzly. They are just in different classes. The 400EX is still the best in ITS class.

 

Yeah, the Raptor may be fast and it's new, but it still has the typical Yamaha problems, like, IT'S UGLY! Look at a Banshee, the radiator mounted up so high it raises center of gravity and looks like a damn Model T! They got the Raptor radiator up high also and then that butt-ugly plastic that is all angles in the front and smooth flow in the rear. I'll just keep my R's. I may not be the fastest guy out there, but I'm still going. I'm glad Yamaha built the Raptor though, it may get Honda to do more, sorta like when Dodge came out with it's v-10 truck, well, next year Chevy is coming out with a new v-8 that is bigger than the v-10 and 40hp more! Thanks Yamaha. You may have just provided the boost that Honda needs!

 

The Raptor is a good thing for our sport. It will raise the bar. Honda & other manufacturers will see their sport quads sales drop. To get sales back up they will have to release something new that is better. Competition is a good thing, we the riders benefit from it.

The Raptor is going to kick some butt!
