I was looking at the Yamaha guys section when I saw a thing on the Raptor....Some dude in New Zealand took a bunch of photos of this thing. I saw something that suddenly made me very interested in owning one. In typical Yamaha fashion, they chose to mount the rear wheels backwards. Reverse them and whala, an extra 4-5 inches of width in the rear. Took the width issue out of the picture now didn't it? I had a 99 Warrior, so I know the wheel thing. My dealer called me yesterday and told me to save my money up for one of the first Raptors. Now I might just do that. I just wonder if they lie about the weight like they do on their other quads. If not, Honda is in big trouble.

who gives a rat's azz?? be happy with what you got.. if your rich out the azz then go ahead and get some monster. and one more thing.. why did you even have to post that?? go ahead turn your wheels around and land a big jump... or are you gonne ride in straight lines? personally, i don't care about the raptor, banshee, or DS650. i am happy with what i got, and i'm glad honda made the 400ex. I don't care if they ever come out with some 600ex (it'd be nice for some people tho). all these atv phreaks saying "looks like honda's in trouble" i mean WTF, get a life. just my $0.00

PS: your dealer called you and told you to save up money for this quad!! that's pretty funny...

1.) Why do you insist on using the word "azz"? It is not cool or impressive. 2.) Why don't you turn the rear wheels around on your 400ex and see what it is that I am talking about. Jumps are irrelevant to this, obviously you commented before grasping what I was even talking about. 3.) How would I not need to save money for a Raptor? It retails for $500 more and i now have a used quad. However, if I sell my Works shocks and my +2 A arms and my plastic to friends, i will have more than enough $$$.

I don't see how swapping the stock rear tires adds any width.

swappin the wheel is a trick we learned many years ago, look at the wheel of a blaster front or warrior rear, they are deeper on the inside facing the axle carrier(or spindle in the blaster front) un bolt them, mount them with the shallow( outer side ) to the inside and that which went towards the midline will now reach a few inches further outward. adding width. simple version to look at: take a coke bottle lid, stick your finger(axle) in the inside of it, this is like the factory mounted wheel, now turn it over, hold your finger to the top(outside)of it, see how much farther it extends from your finger(axle) makes it lots wider huh?

yea 400ex81 go turn your rear wheels around on your 400ex and see how many inches you can lose. maybe even brake your muffler off when the tire hits it landing off a big jump. hey hakmazter don't be a dumbazz. if you want some more width you can turn your front wheels around. anyways I hope hakmazter does get the p.o.s. so we can get him out of the Honda forums. see ya on the track hakmazter (I'll be the one cutting under you when you are two wheeling off the track)later

hey hakmaster,
in response to what you said about your dealer... you didn't understand what i said... i think that it is funny that your dealer called you and told you to save up money for it... hehe, i mean you must be very gullible or something. and maybe i don't want to turn my wheels around and crack my exhaust... why don't you rip your arms off and turn them around then slap yourself in the face a couple times. (just joking)
have a nice day

I say yea for yamaha if yamajunk comes out with something that "might"challenge the 400ex honda will wise up and blow everyone's doors of with a 650 4 stroke 6 speed with about 12 inches ofg travle and about 2inches wider than the 400ex that would be sweet but right now I got my dream ride so i don't care.
