Alternator power

Default Alternator power

I have considered buying the electrically heated clothing for da wife...but first i need to know how much amperage is put out by the alternator on the 350 Honda Rancher? Anybody know?

Default Alternator power

It should say in the owners manual how many watts, it rated for. Divide that number by 13 volts, and thats how many amps it will draw. Usually the electric clothing is rated in watts, and so are the headlights, that will make it easier to figure. I think youll have about 200 watts, but the important thing to remember is the rated output, is the maximum, output. That usually occours about 5000 rpms, at idle the output is much less.

thanks buster....does anyone out there have the electrically heated clothing?...can you tell me how well it works on a quad?
