Can anyone tell me how to bypass having to push down the red button to get in reverse ? It looks like there is also some kind of switch there??? 2004 450es Thanks

 

Its not a switch, its cable operated. When you push the button down, you put a pin through a lever that is then pulled with the brake handle for the reverse safety thing. The cable operates the unit inside the motor.

To properly disable this, you would have to get inside the motor. Easiest way I can think of is to tape or tie the red button so that its always down.

This way you would only have to have the brake held to go to reverse (which is a life saver of the gearbox).
