OK all you experts out there
My friend's son has an 02' trx90 (all stock). is there anything I can do to increase the power. I know i can get a pipe and buy things. what I'm looking to do, for example, is remove anything that restricts the power that it has already.
My friend, she's on a low budget and we're trying to get by for a few months before buying anything
any suggestions?????
Thanks in advance

I've seen it on ebay before. It may be expensive and hard to do, but I'M sure it's worthing it. Don't know how old is your son thought.
You could bolt-in a 80CC Dirtbike engine in it. It would have good power

yeah - just two screws at the end of the silencer...should pop right out..
i'm still trying to think of other things you could do - depending on the area where this machine ir rode...there are air box mods you can do...but you may have to rejet...I am not sure on this though(eg, riding without an airbox lid...with some sort of cover like outterwear...or underwear for all that matters)
that would mean having to clean your air filter more often though obviously
i'll let you know

pimp250r, Thanks
Next week the trx90 is headed to the Oregon dunes. and its ridden by a 12 year old that has only had it since April (already hit loose grave and met a tree!)
Other that the Oregon Dunes, more likely it will be ridden on trails/logging roads in Western Washington, or Sand in Eastern Washington
I'll look at the pipe tomorrow and let ya know how it goes

Another thing you can do is cut the snorkle off the air box lid, or just leave it off. You can also get a freer flowing Uni filter for about $10. Keep in mind though you may have to bump the jetting up a bit after doing these mods.
Hope this helps,

If it's the same as our '95 you can't do that as the silencer doesn't have a removeable end cap. I bet you could find a good used pipe on ebay though. If I were buying one today I'd get a Big Gun.

That sounds like a perfect start......more fuel, more air, more flow

Best thing you can do is go to your CDI box and pull the pink wire out of the connector. This is the top gear limit switch. This mod is the same that big outfits charge you up to $100 for a rev box. Its a stock rev box with the pink wire connector removed.
