I made my mounting bracket for $5. I used 1/4" steel and painted it with Tremclad. I also made the mounting bracket for my fairlead.

Nothing mechanically spectacular but a good deal less expensive.

i bought a superwinch 1500 from farm and tractor supply for $139. i replaced the 25ft cable with a 50 ft cable thus raising the pull capacity to 2000 lbs. the cable cost about $14. as far as mount any flat plate metal can be cut to fit and attached with c-clanps for little or no costs. i thought about getting a fair lead but the opening is fairly large and i could not see putting down $40 for 4 rollers. so for about $160 i got all set up. i also used an earlier suggestion and mounted my switch to the bottom of the digital readout, you can use one of the screws that is already there and just drill one more hole to attach it. good luck!

I emailed Warn, and the brake kit for the A2000 winch is about $68, and the best price I’ve found so far on the winch is nearly $300. I think I might look into the Superwinch ATV2000 since it is only $200, and already has a brake. Tree Farmer, do you know what the holding capacity of the brake on the Superwinch ATV2000 winch is?
