My 400ex took a crap last night!
My electric assembly is going to get replaced too. One of the screws stripped or the plastic cracked a little from the cold. I can't tighten mine down to make a good ground. I will just run a bolt all the way thru with a nut on the backside until I can get a replacement. Other than that my bikes running great again! Thanks for all the info guys!

Keep in mind also that riding in the snow creates a lot of wheel spin, therefore you are reving at high rpms for an extended period of time and that could create some internal heating (hints the glowing pipe). I was riding in the snow last weekend and you definately work the bike a lot harder than in normal conditions.

Also make sure that your Gas tank VENT is not getting clogged,or pinched.
If it is , it will vapor-lock, and then lean the heck out of your engine before the fuel comes to a complete stop. Letting it set will trickle fuel into your carb(filling it up) then the problem will repeat.
