Need some help or info on my rancher at
#1
I was just wondering if any one that owns a rancher at has had any problems out of them? I just bought one and I went out riding it this weekend. It did everything that I wanted it do. It is an awesome machine. However I did encounter a couple of problem with it. The first one is it seems like in order to keep it going straight that I needed to keep the handle bars a little bit to the left. Do thses quads have an alignment that can be adjusted on them? Also the next problem is that when I was climbing a pretty steep hill and I would stop that sometimes the quad would die on me. Is this a carb. problem? I rode with another rancher at yesterday and his worked liked a charm. I only have 19 miles on my now. Does that have anything to do with why it was dieing on me sometimes? My last question is what is the proper way of starting these machines? I start out by pulling out on the choke and hitting the starter button. Well after while with the choke still out the quad will die on me and it wont be fully warmed up. So now I start it with the choke out then I give it a little bit of gas and push the choke in and I hold just a little bit of throttle until it warms up. Is this the correct way to do this or do I have a carb problem? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks Again for all the great info you guys have given me.

I have a 03 Rancher ES and I have had no problems with the I'am not sure about the alignment deal but anywas the rancher is a good quad just break it in properly and you should be okay. As for the choke situation. When it is cold you should pull the choke out full opened start the quad. Then after running breifly fully opened run it half choke then shut the choke down you should be fine with that. hope this helps.

Check the tire pressure, in all 4 tires, if one is too low or too high, it will cause a pull to one side.
Is the idle high enough? As the weather changes, most carbs need adjusting, try turning up the idle speed. That will help your cold starting problems too.

Thanks for the info guys. As far as starting it I pull the choke out full way and start it without any gas the after just a few seconds I push in the choke and hold the throttle barley until it wrms up. Is it ok to do this? If I leave it full choke then mid choke it dies on me. Any other suggestions or does it sound like that i'm doing everything alright? Thanks Again

It should idle by itself to warm up...you shouldnt have to sit there and keep the thottle on. Try opening the idle mixture screw a 1/4 turn(turn out), to richen up the idle , and maybe bump up the idle speed.
