Checking my Rubicon out before I took it riding & when I looked at the oil it had nasty foam bubbles at the top & looked like milk. What do I need to do to get it clean inside before I add my new oil? Thanks

 

You need to run through two changes at the least to be safe.

Change your oil along with a new filter. Run it until operating temprature. Change it again while the oil is hot [be careful]. Leave the oil filter in during this second change. Run it again until operating temprature and then replace the oil and filter and you should be done.

Alot of guys flush the engines with kerosene or diesel fuel. This is bad on the oil seals and rubber o-rings.

 

Diesel Fuel is a petroleum product and is NOT bad on seals or O-Rings. I work with it every day and have flushed my swamped engines with it. Don't use straight diesel, but 1 litre for every 4 and you will not do any harm and it will help clean out your water faster than just straight changing the oil. You are mis-informed...

 

First of all, every OEM makes it a point to let it's service departments know they strongly discourage the use of diesel or kerosene for engine cleaning purposes. They state it every shop manual and they are quick to point it out at nearly every servie seminar I've been to.

I use the stuff myself to clean things around the shop, but not to flush engines.

If it works for you then fine.......great.......I know others in here who do the same thing. But I'll never reommend it.

Go to your local auto parts store and grab some SeaFoam. I use it in my car, lawnmower heck you can use the stuff in everthing. It cleans and coats stuff to help with extra lubrication. Always run it by your dealer but I'am pretty sure it will be fine. That stuff is top of the line. Hope this helps
