Tempest, thanks for your opinion. I continue to believe however that the highlifter unit is a better bang for the buck. I am quite certain that northern Minnesota also has a few rocks! there is no such thing as over protecting our most prized possession, our quads!

Installed a full-skid on my 2000 Rancher from PRM.
I was pretty surprised by the noise of things hitting it, before I never thought that I was hitting that much stuff. It also slides in the deep mud and helps get thru it. Before I would feel the bike scrape then catch and bottom out and the tires would dig a hole. The Rancher's skid plate has small pieces of metal in various locations and I think it is more prone to hanging up. I feel much more secure about trying the unknowen mud holes and last but not least it does not rattle which was a concern of mine. It bolted right up and fits tight and secure. It is a neat feeling to slid over a large root, fallen tree limb, or stump. But I don,t want to mislead anyone there is still no substitute for clearance in certain situations.

Good move!!! That's where i bought mine from!!! nothin' against H.L. but i ordered the full length skid plate package from them twice now and both times it was trashed when i received it from UPS, they need to get some better packaging on their skid plate's so that it can stand up to the riggor's and abuse that UPS puts them through!!! It looked like it fell off of the truck and then backed up over it when they went back to retreive it!!! I know for a fact that when they sent them out they weren't all bent up and scratched up like when i received them here at my house!!! I couldn't beleive it!!! They told me to bend them back with a pair of plier's!!! but for that kind of $$$$ they should be "BEAUTIFUL"" and "SCRATCH" free like they are advertised!!! HEY!!! Don't get me wrong, but when it says a beautiful, scratch free delivery, that's what i expect!!! Because if you think that UPS is hard on those parts, wait 'til i put em thru the ringer!!! Don't get me wrong!!! I think the guy's at H.L. are great!!! They just need to get someone else to deliver their good's besides UPS because UPS don't care about the stuff that they deliver!!! UPS must pay one "HELL" of an insurance bill for all the damaged good's that they screw up!!!

Heads up for Rancher owners: Are you considering PRM skid plates, I got a new set of PRM skid plates for my Rancher and tried to install them
last nigh WHAT A NIGHTMARE! The "A" arm plates fit ok but the bottom skid Plate is about as far off as anything could be.
Holes are miss aliened, the break form bends on the plate are wrong and You have to bend up your factory brush plate to get it to fit. I will be at it again tonight to try and make it work.

Their nice skid plates over all I just wish they fit right PRM needs to go back and look at their design for the Rancher because it's way off.
BUYER BE WARE!!!!

Hey Madmax are you sure they sent you the correct one? The full-skid I got for my Rancher bolted right up, all I had to do was oversize a hole in the plate a bolt went thru. The plate fits perfect!!!! The access to tighten the bolts and nuts is tight but everything fit to order. I would be suspicious that you might have the wrong Honda skid plate......
