Rancher AT reliability!!

I was going to ask the same thing yoda asked spudnick - did you find out what the problem is? Is it the clutch and is it going to be covered by the recall that is supposed to be coming down to the owners sometime in the near future?

For all you Rancher 400AT owners...it's official. Our district service rep, verified it and had a copy of the letter to be sent out to owners. The nuts and bolts are Honda will be replacing ECM's on 400AT's. The ECM is like the main brain of the machine. The problem as it was explained to me is that under certain circumstances, at lower speeds, the ECM isn't producing a downshift as it should. Sometimes it may be possible that even when you slow down to a stop, the machine isn't shifting into low tran range as it should. Please note, this has nothing to do with the subtran. So if your tran is grinding when you put it in gear, or you're actually popping out of gear at the lever, you got something else going on. I'm sure there will be a VIN range, more details, etc, but even you guys not having any problems, watch your mailbox.
