1985 honda trx 125. it has spark and we took off the carb and put gas in and bike does not start. comp seems to be good. when we put the gas in don't seem like the spark plug is getting the gas. but we are putting the gas in the engine with the carb off. any ideals.

Youre right to check for spark, and fuel. Only thing else is compression.
You need to make sure you do have good compression. use a compression gauge, youll need 80 psi or more.if not good enough Check for valve clearance. Check valve timing.
Im not sure youll be able to get it to fire , with the carb off. The mixture will be very lean, and have very low velocity.
Did the spark look good and strong?

 

Check the Valve clearance (.003in). If you need ANY other specs on this engine let me know...I have books out the waazooo on this engine.
