1st truly comparable 450R vs YFZ dyno report

14mins says the raptor was the FIRST HI-PO quad in years. FALSE. That was the 400ex, that was the most powerful quad out since the 80's. Sorry dude, but the raptor is not the best thing on earth like you think.

C'mon guys, why try to convince 14mins that the YFZ isn't the Holy ATV? You could give him a stock YFZ and have him race a stock R and if (when) he got beat, he would just be like "there is no way that 450R is stock! What about the first five races?" We would all roll our eyes about the R not being stock and we'd all be confused about the first five races part he was talking about. Some people can't stand to be wrong and none of us can change that!

I dont even think he praises the yfz to much, it is the raptor that he thinks is the 'HOLY QUAD'. I have also learned that every time he gets pinned in a corner, he will just say that your posts are immature, but yet his is the same and usually more childish because 9 times out of 10 he makes the first strike while us 'adults' are having a good conversation.
I relize that I have stooped to his level in another forum, and I appologize for being like him. Just like I have said many of times before, as long as you ride, no matter WHAT it is, ur cool w/ me.

Hey guys, I could use a little help understanding the information posted regarding the dyno testing at www.gtthunder.com
Description of the dyno testing.
It says"
Below are 3 links to comparison runs made on the dyno comparing the TRX450R to the YFZ450. Both bikes were stock, both bikes had about the same amount of breakin time, both bikes were dynoed under the same conditions including 30MPH air blowing across the bike. Interesting thing with the Honda was the ignition was going into a double spark condition at 8400 rpm. The Honda was hitting the rev limiter at 9200 rpm, however on the runs below you will see the graph for the honda stop at 8400 rpm on all the runs that are based on rpm. You can see the full spread on the run that is speed based. In all the graphs - the blue is the YFZ and the red is the TRX.
Not trying to bash either quad, just have a few questions.
1. In the original post, 1986atc250r says something about a 10,100 rpm on the 450r. But this was not stated in the results.
2. What is a double spark condition? Why would this occur? What would be the effect on the dyno and why??

Just stop your wining, there too close to compare. Ones better in some areas and the other in some areas.
14mins- You have been doing a lot a trash talking about the 450r.
This battle between these quads will go on forever. Its just which brand you like best.

z250freak - Who are you referring to with the stop your wining thing? Hopefully not me, I truly am trying to understand the above questions. This will be important stuff in a few days. Not all of us are motorheads... Wish I was now though...... Hopefully it will come with time.....
A little advice for you guys on 14mins- Just ignore him, he is harmless and just wants to **** you off. I've made the mistake of sinking to his level a few times and regret it. No matter what, it won't change his opinions. By allowing him to get to you he has won. In the last few days I really haven't wasted to much time on him. I get the gold star. It is likely he will respond with something bad to say, but that is ok. You have to consider the source.

As far as the rev-limit, I'm wondering if it's a typo - 9200 is the rev limit for the 400EX, the 450R is higher. When I spoke to him on the phone, he said 10,100 to 10,200 or so. About 600 RPM lower than a YFZ.
As far as the double spark. That is the reason the dyno ends at 8400 RPM. When a double spark occurs, it will appear to the dyno that the engine is turning twice as many RPM - thus skewing the results. Makes me wonder how HMF was able to get a full sweep on their RPM based dyno of the 450R.
As far as why a double spark? Hard to say at this point. Maybe it's for more complete burning? Maybe an emissions thing? Unsure. I've seen a multiple spark ignition before, but not RPM activated.
