450r - +2 a-arms - stock suspension
#1
I would like to know if anyone has purchased any +2" A-Arms using their stock suspension on their 450R? If so, give me a description on how the suspension performs and what type of A-Arms you purchased. I mainly race Mx, and I am just concerned the valving on the stock suspension cannot be dialed in for Mx racing using +2" A-Arms. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tim

Most of the aftermarket companies are still producing a-arms for the 450R and haven't released them yet. You would almost certainly need to revalve the stock shocks. If you have the money (about $2500) you can get Gibson Long Travel +2 A-arms with Custom Axis, PEP or Elka front shocks. It adds about 3 inches of travel and the zero preload makes the bike sit lower. I still have the stock front end but I switched the tires to 18" Holeshots on the rear and 20" Holeshots on the front. It seems to corner better.

My 450R is currently in the strip down mode. What I hear is you get terrible bump steer when you go to a wider a-arm. I am setting mine up for the TT Nationals. Legacy ATV is my main sponsor. This word comes from Wayne @ PEP. You have to do something to the steering stem when you widen the a-arms. I will keep you people posted.
