Ok I am planning on getting a yfz or a 450r next weekend but I don't know which one to get I have heard good and bad about both and I have read the other threads and people just seem like they favor the brand of quad they own. So, I was wondering what quad would be better for trail riding, drag racing with your friends in an open field (One friend has a 400ex with pipe, and jet kit. Other friend has a raptor with an air filter), and which one just has more overall power and would be more fun of a ride??

Well I want to get the one that does good in trails but just in case anybody wants to dragrace like my friend with his cr125 thats talking crap saying he is going to smoke me no matter what but he only beats my friends raptor by like 3 lengths in the one field and the raptor is maxed out at the end and is catching the dirtbike but the dirtbike just has better acceleration so which one of these has better acceleration the 450r or yfz?

well what if you add the hrc kit to the honda and a pipe and you do the cam mod and add a pipe to the yfz?

Which one wakes up more when you start modding?

 

The TRX has an EXCELLENT trail bike chassis, maybe the best there has ever been! The motor is however geared tall, so if your trails are real tight, you will need to gear down some.

The YFX has the edge in top speed, and would probably make the better drag racer. I absolutely hate the YFX out on the trail. The ride is stiff and rough, and you almost have to stand up.

 

i would say go with the trx450 just my 2 cents

 

Are you saying this because of the hard seat or is there just some other reason?

 

Go with the YFZ, do the cam mod, take the baffle out and jet up. It will really wake up and take off.

Ohh and I also heard you can go up a tooth on the yfz in the front and it will give it better bottom end while keeping everything else and better top speed is that true ??
