400ex trail riding

I just moved up to the Traverse City, Michigan Area and i brought my 400ex with me, Ive been riding for a year or so but havnt got much riding in *since i was living in the suburbs* I have ridin at silver lake a some small trail in Ohio but never more than that and since there arnt any dunes around here i need to know what to do to my 02 400ex to set it up for some trail riding and its deffinatly goina see some mud.. What do i need to do?

for mud well i guess good tires would be ok i think we all know that mud is a 400ex's weaker points the only bad thing is lack of reverse on trails as sometimes you run into things you cant drive over lol good luck

shock covers are very convenient for mud. skid plates all the way around is nice. good set of rear tires, and lots of weight to manuver on the EX. I can go through quite a bit with mine, just takes speed and weight transfer.

put 22-10-9 blackwaters on it and youll go anywhere you need to....maybe a set of 23s up front for somemore ground clearance would help alot too. when i had mine, i could take it almost anywhere the 4x4s could go....
