I was talking to sandy at works shocks and this is what i was told.

The normal 400EX shock is 16.25" long. They can make a special shock that is 14.5" long that will fit in the stock brackets.

Will i gain in suspension travel?

My main reason to do this is i want a wider front end and i can get a complete set of 400EX A-arms for around 200. That's a lot cheaper than aftermarket! And the top right A-arm is bent and the bottom left is bent. So i figure i need a new set anyways

Look into the shock tower setup the relocates the top mounts on the 250x/300ex to a 250R setup. You can also use stock 250r a arms, tie rods, and u will need longer brake lines. The tower bracket is $135 then u need a welder to cut and weld this on your 300ex. Email if u have any questions. I have this setup on my TC405ex see the link for photos

hey where can I get the kit to do the conversion to 250r suspension. yea the suspension on my 300ex is takin a beatin, I need to upgrade bad. also I seen another guy on this post who had 400ex a-arms on his 300ex and they bolted right up, and the stock brake lines were long enough.

veedell has a bolt on set up. If he ever e-mails me back with some templates or something, I was going to do this.

y can't you use your stock shocks?? I finished last night ripping off my stock a-arms, axle, and swingarm. Tonight i will be putting on my +2 a-arms I will still be using my stock shock. What this is going to do is raise my quad about an 1/2 due to the longer travel of suspension.... my durablue eliminator axle and rpm swing arm should be here monday

i've heard they won't mount up and besides my front shocks are dead. So i'm not worried about it.

do you want to sell your stock 400EX a-arms? If so e-mail me.. aaron@1st.net
