Default stuck bolts

Well right now im in the process of taking out some 10mm bolts. I could get one free and the rest are stuck. I stripped my 2 10mm sockets trying to remove them, and it says 10mm on the bolt head. I sprayed WW 40 on a couple to see if that would make a differnce but there still in there. Does anyone have a good idea how to remove them?

sears has a stuck bolt removing tool. it comes in a set with various sizes. they look like sockets kinda. My experience with them has been excellent after rounding off lug nuts on an older quad and stripping my 14mm socket. the sears tool took it right off.....first try, no problem. the small set is 19.99 and the full set i think is 49.00. i got my full set on sale two weeks ag0 for 31.00.....great buy!!!

Try using an air impact or try putting a socket on the bolt then hit it with a hammer where the ratchet would go in. Sometimes this will break the rust or thread bonder loose. Other than that I use PB Blaster rust penentrant and a little heat.

The way your post is worded, I thought you wrecked the sockets and not the bolt heads. Buy a set of six point sockets, you wont strip them, .....if the boltheads are striped, try a 3/8 socket, its about .02 smaller than a 10mm. and might be able to get a bite on it.

Man, all I do when that happens is get the vice grips out.... They work everytime. BUT if the bolt is not striped yet and just the sockets are then I would get a breaker bar (there about 2 feet long) And see if that takes them off.

Can you put some heat to them? Like a MAP gas tourch. I've gotten many stuck tie rod ends loose that way.

i usually jsut use the impact wrench the first time and i rarely eaver have a probem. if thats not an option, check out a pair of bolt grip vice grips. they have a little V cut in one side and the other side has a little thing sticking out, it grips on 3 sides of the bolt, but it grips very tight. it generally works fine too.

Get some decent tools. If you're rounding off a socket taking out a 6mm bolt (10mm head size), then the sockets are junk. Craftsman (Sears) are decent quality, no need to buy something as pricy as Snapon.

I would spray some PB penetrating spray on it and let it sit. Then I'd see if I could get vise grips on the end of the bolt head and lock it tight. If you can't turn it out with just the vise grips then you could add a small hallow pipe over the end of the vise grips for added leverage. Be careful not to strip the threads.
