Learning how to drag the 450R and could use some advice from those who actually know what they are doing. Basically saying that I'm not real proficient drag racing the 450R in Sand. I have the extreme haulers now and have them set to the correct air pressure. 4 1/2 pounds. As you can tell from my signature, I have a few mods on my quad.
Here are my questions.
1. What RPM are you running when you start. 1/4, 1/2 3/4 etc and do you drop the clutch?
2. Body position on the quad during the start and throughout the race.
3. What gear do most people start in?
4. Gearing, have most of you dropped down a sprocket in front or up a sprocket in back. I went to the 13T originally but with the addition of the sparks pipe, I think I could probably go back to the 14T on front.
5. Tire pressure?
6. Swingarm, I think a longer swingarm would help, but I don't want it to have a large negative impact jumping the quad.
Some races I would kick butt, some I would suck and not hookup or miss a gear or wheelie in third. I know it is going to take a lot of practice. Just hoping for some good advice.
Thanks.
