yeah don't get me wrong...Like I said I'm not sure how the two compare but my point is simply that Those big a$$ tires on a 2x4 Rancher is one hell of a combination. If I can do better that some 4x4's...you can't help but be impressed. As for me I'm extremly pleased that I don't HAVE to buy a 4x4. I still WANT to but probably won't.

TexasWarrior,

I can't tell you how happy this thread has made me. I have a Rancher 4x2 also. When I was shopping, I was told by most people, that I really didn't need a 4x4. Was totally bummed the first time I went out riding and had to be winched out three time before any of the others, who were all on 4x4 machines.

Can anyone recommend the the most versatile and cost effective tire for all types of riding? I really don't want to have to switch tires when I think I may have to go through a mud hole. The stock tires have been great for climbing and trails, but suck in the mud.

Any help ?

Thanks,
Dave

Indy, I know what you mean. I just happened to run across this Rancher. This guy had bought it on a whim, had never even ridden a quad before. Their first time out, him, his wife and daugter watched a person on another quad wreck on a climb. They had to help this person till EMS arrived. So after that he sold to me with 25 miles on it. I won't tell you what I paid for it cause it wouldn't be nice to you. Anyway I wanted a 4x4....but with tires I can at least have a lot of fun. Tires and a winch will put me in business. Let me know what you end up with and how you like them. All I know to tell you is the 27's do the job but not for all around.
