They are not fast but powerful and handle like $hit at the higher speeds because of the straight axle front end. The engine is the same as the 350X 3-wheeler. 1986 was last they were sold in the US but you could get them in Canada for a couple of years after that. I would thing you could find a TRX300 4x4 from 88 to 90 for around the same price maybe not quite as powerful but a better all around quad.

Did I give the impression they were junk? LOL. We sold a ton of those things in the mid 80's, so if anything went wrong with them, I generally saw it. Most people thought they were just great, and we still get them in for work now and again. Not bad for a nearly 20 year old machine. One good thing, most of the really expensive repairs are pretty obvious with a spin of the motor, a test ride and a good visual inspection.

There are always one or two being broken for spares on UK eBay. You should be able to get any parts you need form a US breaker.

even if it doesnt look so great remember that crappy used ones are going for between 2 and 4 thousand dollars also remember there has been issues with the '' fuel pump'' which is actually the lines inside of the fuel tank so if there is ''issues with the fuel pump '' be sure to purchase a new fuel tank preferably a plastic one and yes they are great for mud and if the situation arises that u start going in deeper than the seat just pop it up into a wheelie and keep going it will be fine as for straight stretches the are good just dont try to turn very suddenly if u do use small bump turns and gunn it other than what i mentioned so far you also might want to check the gasket between the carborator and the engine if dammaged replace it otherwise this will cause the engine to run way too lean and cause the bottom half of the engine to be blown out
