A stock 250r is about 350#

depends what year. 86-87, about 340. 88-89 about 320

 

I dont think a 250r weighs 340/320 stock, cause a pro rider i met at the track had one with a w/e kind of frame it was and he said it weighed only around 20 lbs and i asked him how much he thought it weighed, and he told me it weighed about 350 lbs, this thing had all kinds of lightweight parts on it, that was the nicest 250r ive seen.

 

I'm looking at my 1986 TRX250R manual right now and it says 328 lbs. dry. Figure a few pounds less for the 88-89 R's because of the aluminum swing-arm

 

I think thats about right because I know that its much lighter than a z or a 400ex. If the atv you saw was 350lbs with a 20lb frame then his engine must have been made of lead.

 

Wow, thats light as crap, id like to get my 450r down to at least 350. maddog, the one i saw was really nice, it had a lonestar axle, fullbore plastic, A 310 PV ENGINE (which may make it weigh more, but idk), PEP rear shock, i dont remember what front shocks he had but this thing was built, he was clearing EVERY jump at that track and he was a sponcered honda rider. he could have been off by a few pounds when he told me what it weighed.
