I think what he is talking about is the consent decree, which Honda seemed to go overboard with, in my opinion. I mean Yamaha continued to make the Banshee, so Honda could have chosen to make the 250R if they wanted.

they discontinued because of the big fuss over 2 strokes and polluting. They already got nailed for the 3 wheeler bit why get another lawsuit from the government. And as for Yamaha, hey no one ever said they where to quick for thinking. Hey Hondas got the 400EX now. A machine that can actually be used in MX racing. HAHAHAHAHAHA.....dah if u cant beat Hondas 250's build a 350............and if you cant beat their 400's build a 660.....too scared to actually race with them.

Nobody cared about pollution from atv's in 1989. If that was the reason Honda wouldn't make two stroke motorcycles.

Well, they REALLY stopped making the 250r because Honda had to concentrate its resources in maing something more important. Honda was sponsered by the Us government, in a joint project with france to start work on a aircraft powered by a conventional combustion engine, not jet power. The project is still top secret, but word is they are testing the jet in the nevada desert. It leaves an unconventional exhaust trail, most high altitude jets leave a strait, cloud like trail, but this one leaves a "doughnut on a rope" trail, due to its combustion qualities (eg. exhaust, intake). Now that you know this i'll have to kill you.

Yea really whats with them taking all the tw0 strokes away, i mean for dirtbikes they dont stop making all the 2 strokes but quads they do. All the companys making 2 stroke bikes are also making there line of 4 stroke. so why not bring back 2 stroke quads. u know honda says they have that low emmison or whatever honda 400r motor but it would cost to much for the quad then. THere dirtbikes arent low emision so why the hell do quads have to be? sorry about the spelling hehe

Honda makes lots of CRs 80s,125s,250s and 500s and they pollute and are able to kill someone very nicely also.

I see no reason for honda to have stopped other than they just couldn't hack it. Look at Suzi, they biult the lt until 92, banshee still makes the Banshee, Honda just pussed out! But as everyone knows, nuttin will beat a 250 2 stroke.
