Default 450R falling short?

Why should they have put a DOHC on the 450r when the uni-cam flows just as good?

The lower compression level was probably just for reliability issues, slap a higher comp. piston if your not satisfied.

I like both quads... I don't think that you can go wrong with either. Has that been stated yet?

I think that Yammi 450 & Honda 450 owners should all get together for a giant pissing match.

THEN we'll find out who the king REALLY is.

This was supposed to be a competitive race machine, not a 450EX. At least that was how all of the die hard Honda owners hyped it....

It is competitive. I would say that my trading wins with piped YFZ's while I am riding a stock TRX means that the TRX is pleny competitive.

The my dad vs your dad thing was meant to show you what some people are acting like on this thread. I dont know 1BAD or anyone else on here so I can look at all of the comments unbiased. ALOT of the stuff being said is pretty petty, the man stated what he has seen and heard and now your gonna hang him for it??? WTH. I joined this forum because I thought it was a great place to exchange info, and really for the most part it is. But many of you need to grow up or at least realize that some of the junk your saying would be better left unsaid. Why are we engaging in a pissin contest over a freakin atv? This is hopefully my last post on this thread.

Hey, to all of you who answered this thread without acting like school girls and simply stated their opinions on the quad I look forward to postin with all of ya again. To the rest who acted childish, probably because you are, I hope when your on the trails/ dune ,etc your a bit more respectful and educated than you have been on here.

I'm out!

A SOHC can produce just as much power as a DOHC if configured right. The yfz from what ive heard can produce more power, but the frame quality between the two is unmatched. Even lonestar has said "the 450r frame is flawless". Take that for what it's worth

Thomez, youve given me some very good information on cannondales and i apreciate it, but trust me, the 450r is VERY competative ( check my pics page, that is all stock cept nerfs). It is WAY WAY more than a 450ex, believe me. And all the hype was backed up 100%.

I don't doubt you, but they haven't performed up to spec in the races that I have seen nor those that my friends have been to and raced at. I am not at all anti-R but from what I have seen, they just aren't quite what I was expecting. No offense to those that have one. I have a pic I'll put in my folder for you guys, you can check it out after it gets approved. I thought it summed up my personal opinion quite well. LANCESTER, you're saying I don't know what I'm talking about?! I've been riding quads and dirtbikes since I was 4 years old (I'm 20 now). My father has bought and raced 4 brand new TRX250R's and 2 Banshee's. I race my 250R in MX but mostly XC. I have completely dissasembled my father's TRX and rebuilt it by myself 2 times and I am curently rebuilding mine. I think you don't know what you're talking about. And HONDARACER 305, did I say anything about the stock 250R being better than the stock 450R? My post said absolutely nothing like that. But modified I think the 250R is better. And RECONRANGER, just because my bike sat in a garage for 10 years doesn't mean it was perfect. I sank a lot of time and money on modifications I put on myself to make sure I'm competitive. All I did was was ask a question because all I'm hearing is mostly bad things about the 450R. Just read the thread "Whats up with Farr?". But if you guys are gonna reply to this post and say I don't know what I'm talking about I will be more than happy to fax you a picture of my trophies!

Settle down everyone, man....talk about getting defensive.....it's not a big deal, they are both good bikes, I would rather have the Honda myself, but some people prefer the yfz...
