Default Fourtrax 300 startup problems

I recently bought a 1999 Fourtrax 300 for me and the wife. Fired it up this morning first thing with no problem. Didn't run it but a minute or two then shut it down. Went out to start it up again about 3 hours later, now it won't turn over. Any suggestions?

Im assuming the motor wont spin, when you press the starter button?
Check kill switch. Then try the pull starter, will the motor spin over with that?
If thats ok, then Id think the battery or its connections would be next. Does the headlight come on ok? When you press the starter button, does the light go out? Youll need a volt meter, to check voltage...should be over 12.5 at rest, and more than 10 while cranking.

After a few more attempts, it started. Checked the spark plug and it's fine. I have a feeling the carb may be a bit clogged. When I got it running, I took it out and opened it up and had a slight delay it the acceleration vs. the trottle. Gonna check the carb this week though. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.
