Default Sitting Quad on Rear End

In some of the posts I've read about the Warn 424 and the installation process, some people have tilted their quads up and set them up on their @$$ end to install the unlocker. Will this do anything to the quad if it's left like this for a few hours? That's how long it will take to do the installation.

Drain the carb float bowl first, and of course turn the gas valve off. Gas can go back through the carb, and wash the oil out of your air filter, leaving you with no protection. On a Friday afternoon, I can stand on an I-10 freeway overpass and see 10 rigs headed for Glamis go by every few minutes, with quads standing up in the trailers. No big deal!

What if I didn't drain the float bowl and just cleaned my air filter afterwards?

Sure. It isn't a major issue. It is just one of those things that might happen, but if it does, it will do a lot of damage. Or, just pull the air filter off while you do the mod.

You could apply some more oil to the filter after you clean it.

I always tipped my Recon on end to wash the bottom. I would just turn the gas off before I tipped it up.

My Foreman is a little harder to tip up. It's a little bit heavier. The rear tires would skid on the garage floor. It was like moving a 600 lb wheel barrow. It would even skid when I'd try to block the wheels. It'd just push the block in front of the tires. I don't wash the bottom of the Foreman by tipping it up.

Leave your gas turned off and start the engine. When the engine dies, your float bowl, and whole carb is empty of fuel. Now stand the quad up.

also you can just take the filter off, so any left over gas/oils doesnt get into it
