Hondaboy,
Take the head off and the tensioner - fish down the timing chain slot with a wire and hook the chain, pull it back up, put the bike in nuetral and turn the chain around looking for damage on it. If it isn't boogered up, put it all back toether, using the timing marks on the flywheel and the marks on the cam sprocket. THis time you might want to think about using lock tight........duh!

This may be a little off topic of the post but you said your timing chain came off. As in no longer in up in the head area? I have never heard of that happening on a 300ex. If there is no damage a new chain can be installed by removing the cam cover, right side cover,chain tensioner,clucth basket,and crank nut. If yours came off while running then I would expect your valves to be smashed and possible piston damage to. The chain has no "master link" The procedure is all laid out in the service manual which you should have before even considering repairing it.
