my thumb never gets tired but i was thinking of changing to twist just to see how it is. i can see how twist might be usefull like u can get a good grip of it and when ur making a sharp right turn u dont need to bring ur index finger around to press the thumb throttle

I grew up on bikes as well and thought I'd like a twist on a quad till I tried it on other than flat terrain. I'll keep the twist on the bikes thank you. Quads get thrown around way more than a bike in hilly, rocky terrain, causing you to twist when it is most unconvenient. I pick thumb.

The way i feel is when I am riding a dirt bike i feel like I am standing up more i guess you can say?? and at a different position (handle bars are ussually lower) and when you hit bumps your always standing up right? That makes it a lot easier to use twist on a dirtbike. On a quad or 3wheeler you are sitting down most of the time with the handle bars higher up at a different angle, when you turn sharp you lean.. causing you to "pull" on the handlebars to hold on, which makes you hit the gas MORE if you have twist, that's why I only use thumb on quads.. I've had bad experiences with twist lol..
