I am buying a used sport quad i drove a 1988 250X today ??? i never heard of it but its in excellent condtion and it has more get-up-n-go than the rancher 4x4 i can get it for 1400 take it or leave it? i was gonna get a raptor and nothing else but im not tring to die @ 15 but please tell me more about the 250X

 

o and how much hp dose it have and whats the top speed?

 

top speed around 50-55 mph and the stock hp should be around 16.5

 

Go with the rancher my cousin has had both of them. First he had the rancher and he gave it 9 kinds of hell and it held together for 3 years, then he had the freshly rebuild 250x '92 and he did the same thing to it. It only stayed together for only 6 months. Also the rancher would run faster than the 250x on top end.

 

ive had a rancher 4x4 im tring to get into sport quads is there something i can do to make the beast have more hp and hit 60mph atleast i want it hittin 70 but 60 will do

 

The 250x is a nowadays 300ex. Kickstart in stead of electric. Very good quad. If you can get a clean one for $1400, you have to it would be wrong to not.

 

ive heard that putting a big gun pipe, air filter and jet kit really helps them. Don't know the mph though

 

250x is basically a 300ex. they can go just about the same top speed (57 give or take depending on rider weight) and imo they are great bikes. since its an 88 id be skeptical and make sure theres no problems.
