(slapping forehead) ok i'll try that in the morning...i have been pulling up on the larger nut next to the snap ring ok i'll try that.

 

OK, i feel as smart as a brick right now...i was turning the f$#%n thing the wrong way...thanks for the help i really needed it!

 

hey don't knock the bricks!....they are the nations unsung heros.....think how many buildings would fall over!!!!!

the lock nuts usually come off pretty easy with the right tools....

put some insulation tap round the nuts when you re assemble it...keeps the mud and dirt out.....
