when you get it.. CHECK it over, this means.. check sparkplug (make sure it runs too).. pull of the head and check the piston, my advice to you also is pull the jug off and see if the rod/crank are good, Check the oil (see if its clean.. has metal in it, etc..).. Check if the bike has anti-freeze and if its good. Make sure it doesnt make unusual sounds, Check the frame COMPLETELY for cracks, especially around the steering stem, motor mounts, swingarm bolt area. Look at it and see if the bike is straight (the frame) See if it still has the case saver for the chain. Make sure you check all of the tires for flats, holes, etc.. make sure your ball joints are still good, check your a-arms for slop (seeing if the bushings are shot), see if it has a filter and if its been cleaned.. if its stock buy a K&N, Good luck, make sure all your bolts are tight, not stripped..
