Default 450r trans??

I,m going to be doing my first oil change and I am wondering If I can use the same oil in both sides of my motor? Yes I have read my owners manual but I figure there are alot of people out there with alot of different opinions. Not everyone is religous to the owners manual way!! Any replys would be great. thanks!

I put penzoil in my engine and 2 cycle tranny oil in the tranny. I don't want to say that is the best way but its what I did and will continue to do.

Tractor-I agree with the 2-cycle trans oil, but is that Penzoil car oil, or do they make motorcycle oil??? Read this great article if you have not already-

http://www.thumperfaq.com/oil.htm

I have not seen another JASO MB oil except Honda HP4M, with moly. That is what I run in the motor, and Honda HP Trans oil in the transmission. The way I figure it, there are a thousand oils out there, and all that means is that you have A THOUSAND CHANCES TO PICK THE WRONG ONE! I just use what the owners manual suggests, and I know I have the RIGHT ONE.

I would definitaly have to say the craziest 2 oils for the TRX450R would definitaly be some Royal purple motor oil (it doesn't really have to be specially formulated for the trx because of the wet clutch, running in a different fluid, it mianly just needs to be really slippery) Then put bell ray gear saver in the tranny. There you go. That the reason honda made the TRX450r like that, so you can put crazy slippery oil in the motor and good clutch and gear oil in the tranny. So really you can run the same oil in both sides like a 300ex or 400ex does, but why would you want to if you don't have to!!!!

No wing No prayer
