Default front sprocket for the 450r

hey i have been riding my 450r i just got the other day and the gears are real tall. i was wondering if a 13tooth front sprocket would make it easier to start out from a dead stop? its like u have to rev it real high and feather the clutch out. so would this front sprocket make it easier to pull out? i am sorry if i am sounding like a little wuss, but its just geared a little to high for my liking.

Yes it will help so that you don't have to rev so high! You will lose a little top end though, but not much! I am running a 13 on my front and it works awsome. I even have a sprocket for the rear that is a tooth bigger, but I haven't put it on yet!

I bet half the people on here with the 450 have done it. I did and it helps but will rev out a little quick.

aight thanks guys. i love the bike, but i dont race it or anything so there is no need for that high gearing. and plus pulling out at that high revs gets a lil annoying.

I think the stock gearing will work well for the dunes where I always started the EX in 2nd gear. I did stall it twice moving it around the shop the first time
