Default 450r problems

I just got a honda 450r and now whenever i ride hard and go over rough bumps, the engine cuts out. Also when i hit a jump and and rev it in the air a little bit then land i have no power. It cuts out and then backfires then i get power back. Some people say i am hitting the rev limiter but i know i am not. Anyone got any ideas about what the problem is??

My guess would be wiring.

I would suggest that it is a carburator problem. Perhaps the float bowl is set a little to high, and on rough terrain, the extra fuel sloshing around is getting into the fuel circuit, making it run rich and bogging the engine. If it is still on warranty, make it the dealers problem!

I would have to agree with this, it has something do do with ur fuel flow anyway.

I have heard of one other 450R having this exact problem. He cleaned the carb and caught the problem in the act. There was a small plastic shaving stuck in the main jet (like from assembly). He said it looked like the curl of a thread in plastic.

Check the carb.
