The idle could be set too low and when combined with a cold motor you could have enough extra clutch drag to kill the motor. Should go away when warmed up. Since you just bought it used be sure and go through everything especially motor oil, air filter, and valves. Some riders believe in 20-50 in the summer. If that is what you have in there that could cause some cold start and cold clutch use problems. I believe 15-40 is plenty good even for the hottest summers. These have a monster oil cooler.
