yellow400exman,
Don't Get your undies in a bundle alright go to the doctor and get some stress relief pills or something! LOL J/K I was just kiddin, actually I agree with you if you need more power for what you ride and you like your quad than they should just say what you should get instead of Bit(hing at you and telling you what you don't want to know or you don't care about. I understang why you were pi$$ed off at them because they don't understand all you want to know is what to get.

Well I bought mine used so it had that stuff on there already. However I have had much experience with dirt bikes before. I have never ridden a bike for at least a year before putting any kind of upgrade on it. Gotta get used to the machine, see where its faults are. You can't just go on what other people say, because every bike acts different.

Well honda400rider,
I have been riding a Cr 250r for about 3-4 years now and I just bought a trx 450r and i mean it has some power behind it, but after riding the CR, the fourwheeler feels like it goes so much slower. And I'm use to riding bout 5th gear the whole time on my trails, so nothing ever has enough power for the real riders. Well i think that. Noone can ever have enough.!!!!!

5th gear in trails? What are these trails, abandoned airport runways? In the trails around here, you would be asking for trouble if you got out of 3rd gear.

I put a pro circuit t4 pipe a k&n filter and a dial a jet and that really woke it up. Only thing with a 400ex is if you get too much power for woods and trails you will need to upgrade the clutches (dirtdiggers or comprable). We race circuit races every weekend with a banshee built to the max and a yzf 450 with the only stock part being the frame and I really like riding the 400ex as a everyday general pleasure bike. try a few small mods to it and I think you'll be really impressed

WHy don't you try riding it in something other than a straight line, why not some nice pass/fail 30ft doubles on a super nice tight MX track, or do some hill climbing. My 400ex pulls as hard as my buddies one week old 660 rapper, we race up hills both doing wheelies and reach the top at the same time and fly off about another 30ft. . Mine is stock, and when I go out and put my retart hat on, that is all I can handle. But I am sure after two weeks you are ready to race Ricky Carmichael. My advice is sell it get a Shee and drop a NOX kit on it. They are easier to rebuild after blowing/crashing.

You have all completely forgotten the topic here. All the guy wanted to know was what mods other 400ex owners recommended for them. But everyone turned it into a bashing session. This is supposed to be a forum for helping each other. yeah some of the questions might be dumb or be worded incorrectly but, no one started a pro. but a lot of you learned by reading here and if you a$$holes are treating everyone like this people will stop reading here and the forum will die. so let's get along in here. if you want to argue, have a twelve pack, tie your mullet into a pony tail, brush your tooth, and head to your local redneck tavern. that's my 2 cents
