Default Repacking MegaMaxII

I just rebuilt my motor, and my muffler is full of oil residue from when my motor was smoking bad. Whenever it gets hot it still smokes from all the oil, and I can't get the muffler apart to replace the packing. The screws that hold the muffler together seem to be seized up, and I don't want to break them off. WD-40 Didn't help loosen the scews. Any ideas how to clean this muffler out or loosen up these screws?

I have the MegaMaxII on 4 bikes, so I know what you mean! The screws corrode very rapidly, and fuse to the nuts. FMF should find another material to make the nuts from!

Usually if I use lots of WD-40 and work them in and out, I can eventually get them. Sometimes, I have had to cut the head off, then back them in by turning them with a pair of pliars. Occasionally, you will break the nut off on the inside. In that case you can leave a screw off, but if you break two or three of them, you will just have to order a new bulkhead.

Try putting the muffler back on the bike and warming it up. At times a little heat can go along ways.
