Default exhaust for dunes, hills, desert

I ride alot of dunes, hills, and open desert. I was wondering what would be the best SLIP-ON exhaust for my 400ex in the areas i ride.

I like the FMF PowerBomb header, Factory 4SL muffler, a foam UNI air filter (way less restrictive than stock, and way safer than a K&N), and a vented airbox lid (http://www.ehsracing.com/), and of course a rejet. In Calif., you will need to run a spark arrestor screen and a quiet core (must be 96dB or quieter).

Venting the airbox lid makes all the difference, but in the sand and dust you don't want to run wide open. The EHS lid has an Outerwears on top, which filters out the big stuff, leaving the air filter to handle the little stuff. And lose that restrictive stock air filter, ASAP.

an ehs lid works good but is expensive. go on moto-man.com and get an outerwears airbox lid kit. 19$ and works good.

How much would that setup cost me?

I would say around $200 for the header and $270 for a muffler, and a little extra for a quiet core and spark arrestor. (You can do without the header, if your funds are limited.) An air filter is about $30, and the airbox lid is around $60. (For a cheaper lid, get some 1" UNI vents, and install them in your lid.)

The thing is, if you put things on one at a time, you are going to have to rejet every time. It is best to collect everything, then put it all on, and do just one rejet.
