get the sparks pipe if you like mid & topend

 

You can add the DS to that list. My bro and cousin both have 450r's and cant quite keep up with my 04 Baja in a drag. We have raced many times.

 

Get a CHM Exhaust and a sparks cam .. My brother put those on his 450R and it will almost outrun my Yfz ... Great Low-Mid power with the sparks cam and with the Chm Exhaust its the perfect combo , I only say this because he has tried the Hmf and Sparks exhaust with the sparks and Hrc cam and the sparks cam / Chm Exhaust is by far the best combo for power.

 

i forgot to say the final reason i did the hrc cam (because i think the sparks is a better all around cam) is that my warranty is still in tact with the honda cam. HP #s on the two cams is low-mid sparks cam + 2hp top end hrc cam +1hp this is compared to each other not stock.

 

ive talked to a few motor builders at the national tts and they said you would be hard pressed to equal the performance of the hrc cam. an aftermarket pipe absolutly "wakes up" the hrc cam. you wont be dissapointed!!

 

the HRC kit is well worth the money. the HRC has the most top end power of any of the cams out right now. i also recommend the HMF exhaust or the curtis sparks. by the way, a stock 450R will put a stock raptor to shame, especially in 300 foot. the only thing faster than the 450R stock for stock is the yamaha YFZ. the best mod you can do to the R is a cam.

 

the first thing i get when i get a new quad is nerf bars. and i would go with the White Brothers Carbon Pro on a 450R (if you've got the money). if not then i would say the LRD or Dr. D. if you ride mx do suspension, nerfs, and a pipe, then go on from there.
Don't use a K&N unless you like dirt in your engine. they flow really good but let a lot of dirt in so i use the UNI air filters with maxima filter oil.

 

There is only one way a Raptor will give a TRX a run for its money. Its called a 686 kit with serious porting. MOD for MOD only two strokes and a YFZ will give a TRX any trouble. Most drags a 1/4 or 1/8 mile. In that short distance there is no chance for a Raptor or DS to out run the TRX. They possibly could do it in 3/4 mile. My stock 450r with a Dr.D will tear similarly modded Raptors and DS's a new hole. Dont believe it, meet me on the sand any time. Hows next weekend? Both the Raptor and DS ar fun machines that can be modded for serious power, but they lack the ability to rev as hard as a TRX, without lightening the flywheel.

Dont get the CHM, Dr.D is way better for the stock head pipe. Also I wouldnt buy anything till you have had the chance to learn the power characteristics.. For excellent engine and TRX info go to tRX450r.org. It is by far the best site for the TRX!

Also I would not buy the Sparks cam for several reasons. #1 they wont tell you anything about it. #2 the HRC is just as good when price is takin into consideration. #3 The CRF cam (Sparks hmmmm.) are nearly identical. Also their are other companies that make better cams. Johnsoncams, megacycle, are two of the better.

speedbump, is that Dr.D a top end pipe or what? i'm lookin into gettin a pipe for my 450r but i'm not sure what to get. i like what i've heard about the LRD full system, and i've head lots of good things about the Dr.D. is the Dr.D comprable to a full system in power?
