It's worth it if you ride trails. It gives you considerably more top end. If you ride mainly MX style, I wouldn't buy it. I like it because I ride both, trails & MX tracks. Buy one mail order,
you may save $10.00 or $20.00

Well I finally bought one of these. I took the advice not to buy from White Bros. I got the 30410-KCE-671 from Planet Honda Racing for $80.00 plus $8 shipping.

The markings on the unit are as follows: It says "Shindengen" (manufacturer I assume), "KCE" is marked in black letters on the white plug connector, the side of the black box is marked with white lettering "CF514F 0.7 131".

I just got the CDI today and will install it Saturday. Maybe this weekend I'll be able to take it to Silver Lake and try it out. I got it primarily for the dunes, that's where I've been hitting the stock rev limiter. Since I put the 14 tooth counter sprocket on and 10-1 piston I've been hitting the rev limiter a lot. Hopefully this will eliminate that problem.

Does it come with install instructions? If not how hard is it to install? Does it hurt your bottom end any? Sorry for all the questions. I want to make sure I get all my info before I mess with the electronics. Thanks guys

Well, I just got done putting the thing on. It was very easy to do even though there were no instructions included. I do have a service manual so I looked up where the ignition control module was located (right under the front plastic above the throttle side shock in a rubber sleeve that holds it in place). I took all the plastic off to get at it easier. There are a total of six bolts and five wire connectors that need to be uncoupled to get the plastic free- match the respective colors when reconnecting. If you want to be careful, take out the 15 amp fuse before disconnecting any of the wires (fuse is located next to the battery under a white plastic cap- there is a spare one in there too). Once the plastic is off you will have easy access to the ICM. The quick connects on the existing ICM and the new ICM match perfectly- don't worry about getting them wrong because they will only go together one way. You don't have to cut any wires, it doesn't get much easier.

As far as performance goes, I didn't notice any difference in power from bottom to top. I didn't expect it to change that. What I needed was a higher redline because in certain situations I was hitting the rev limiter before I wanted to shift. This mod definately helps with that problem.
