I think atvers and outdoors man are the true tree huggers. We r the ones that really want the forest the lakes clean to fish in and fresh air to ride in. Treee huggers live in the city and dont really even care about it.

WE dont need a reason to keep our guns. That why we have the constitution.( i LEARNED that in school last year). We want our guns because we can. They dont neeed to know why.

HEy i am into r/c planes and know about helios
i cant vote yet so everyone please vote. Leave AMerica if u r not going to do ur patriotic duty of voting. Why live here if u dont even want to vote and choice how ur life is. WHichyou can only do in this great free country.

Hey Cowboy, I had to laugh at the reference to my name! It's the nickname all of my brothers and I had growing up. There were so many of us they called us "Trapper1" and "Trapper2" and so on. Two of us have names that start with "B" and since I'm the older, I'm "trapperb1." Corny, but what the hell.
Besides, I live in the middle of mass concrete/asphalt and people. Can't trap here, except maybe on Tom Sawyer's Island at Disneyland!! Imagine what the security guards would do if they caught you!!!

O.K., so we all have the religion......now we have to vote and get all our friends and family to do the same. Those that can afford it should be pumping money into the organizations that are committed to keeping Gore out of office. Time to belly up.

I'm glad to see that there can be a thread that survives without a lot of the Degrading comments towards other riders. No matter what kind of machine we all ride, I'm happy to see at least a few of the hundreds of posters taking an active interest in this years Political hog wash.
As always, I will try to value the opinions of everyone else in a mature fashion.
There are for sure a bunch of you that knowor pay attention to alot more than I have so far. I still don't know about the gun thing. I think that will be a personal struggle of mine for sometime.
Good conversation and I'll keep up as long as I can. Assuming we all value each others opinions.

You all have made some good points. Even you guys that don't want or feel the need to own a gun. We need to protect our rights to legally have ANYTHING we want if we choose to do so. The Brady bill was a flop. This was reported as such in the Washington Post. If they wanted to do something positive on the handgun issue, why not make a mandatory training class and shooting qualification class before you get cleared to buy one? Its a good thing to hit what you aim at. Remember..The first thing Hitler did before his rise to power was to instigate the seizure of all privately owned weapons. This is not **** Germany or will it ever get there, but it does make you see more clearly why the Founding Fathers explicitly said "The right to bear arms shall not be infringed" Its a necessary deterrant. Why do we have nuclear weapons poised to lauch in a minutes notice? Necessary deterrance. The right to bear arms is our GOD given right. The government can take it away if we let them.

As far as the environment, nobody wants to see the environment destroyed. This Earth is the only home we have. If we all make an effort to stop the people throwing cans and trash on the ground a Glamis or anywhere else, If we all try to ride with respect to private property and pay for the accidents that happen, the foothold Gore has with those folks who are one the edge would be no longer. I pickup trash when I se it. I had a farmer thank me for doing so. It was left by a bunch of high school partyers. Collectively, we can make a difference.

We do not need Gore and his bunch to make laws the politicians can distort. We need to start being responsible and forcing others to be responsible. Nobody has the right to litter..not even on there own property. Trash blows around and doesn't always stay where it was left.

We ALL have to remember if there is one bad ATVer then we are all going to get labeled BAD. If the normal Joe sees ATVers picking up trash, respecting private property and posted areas, and making an effort to maintain the land, they won't feel the need to have any legislation in place in hopes that it will happen.

If we ALL band together to and vote against Gore and make a concerted effort to protect our riding areas and to bolster public opinion of those who ride ATVs, the future will be alot brighter. Not only that, but we will continue to lead the way as an example to those who truly care what happens on the grass roots level as well as in the political arena about the environment.

Here we are again. Just thought I would a my .02. I keep hearing about nobody needing a gun or an atv (not here so much) so here is my take on things.

We don't NEED atvs
We don't NEED guns
We don't NEED suvs
We don't NEED knives
We don't NEED bar-b-q steak
We don't NEED a new car
We don't NEED a tax cut
We don't NEED a tv
We don't NEED sunglasses
But what if we WANT them???

I think you see what I am getting at. Gore says we don't NEED alot of things, which we don't but who are we hurting if we do. I personally own more than one gun, living out in the country (the 2 closest towns to me don't even have a gas station or grocery store), I don't expect the sherriff to get here in less than a half hour. Funny thing, though. EVERYBODY seems to have a gun here, but serious crime is nonexistant. I can leave the keys in the cat in front of the house, house unlocked & leave for the day & everything will be where I left it. Sometimes a couple of kids will swipe a few gallons of gas, but we always found them out.
To make a long story short, the only thing we relly don't NEED around here is Gore.
Sorry, if I don't make alot of sense, but this is just a touchy subject around here.

Farmr

PS Cowboy, if you are ever in the middle of nowhere, but are sure you are in Nebraska, look me up. I'm probably the 3rd mailbox on the left & I can show you how to trap. We got coyotes that eat baby calves if they aren't thinned down somehow. An enviro-nut suggested catching the males, neutering them, & letting them go to control the population (really, sounds too dumb to be true, but it is). Although it might keep the coyotes from raping the calves, I don't see how it would keep them from eating 'em.

Well, all the evidence anyone needs is in Australia, or England, where all violent crimes sky rocketed 43 to 53%, including a 144% rise in home invasions, not one month after the gun ban! I don't know about you, but my guns will get "stolen" if any ban goes into effect!!! As for my Quad, they will have to rip it from my cold dead hands!

DOWN WITH GORE
ALL HAIL BUSH!!!!!!!!!!
I personally and an avid ATV/Hunting/Car Enthusiast. and Al Gore wants to eliminate all of this! i dont think so!
I find no reason to eliminate Piston Powered Cars which is what life is about, hot rodding, listening to that 454 with cowl induction roar to life and melt tires like a large bon fire. Only to be replaced by a big, weak battery car that drives for you.

Or wading in cool waters in the morning on sunrise in Louisiana Wetlands for Ducks with your 12 ga. that spent hours of polishing and tinkering to work like a dream and look like beauty.

Or getting up early, meeting a bunch of new, cool people that are a joy to be around, and go riding and haveing fun, doing what few machines can do.......But Al Gore wants us to get on Mo Peds to go get run over by a bicycle.

I dont want any of that taken from me just because some hobo thinks he can do anything worthwhile!!!!!!!!!

If that isn't enough to fight for, how about Gore promising to have lower tax rates (Gov gets less $), yet seem to spend even more money!

Please send an email or letter to your Senator!!!!!!!!!

Down with gore????

what everyone's gotta realize is that one of the candidates is going to be better for THEM than the other one..

People will vote for what is better for them. If more people want education to stay decent, then they will vote for bush. If people want to keep their guns, they will vote for Gore.

No one will know until election day. The real question is "How many people want education, or quads and guns"

whoever wins, is the person that american voters favored the most. So don't argue about it, Don't say BUSH BLOWS, GORE BLOWS! Just realize that everyone has different WANTS and NEEDS.
