400ex front sprocket size?
#1
I was wondering how much acceleration i would lose by going to a 16 tooth front sprocket vs. staying with the stock 15 tooth front sprocket. Also how much topend would I gain from this. If there is anyone out there who has done this and could give me some feed back or just some thoughts i would appreciate it

I done the exact modification to my EX. It really didn't make that big of a difference on bottom end power and I gained about 3mph on the top end. When I added the FMF Powercore Silencer and Dynojet kit really woke up the EX's engine. Through the first 4 gears I could pull away from a stock Banshee about 2 to 4 quad lenghts so that is a big improvement over the EX in stock form.

I added a 16 tooth front sprocket to the EX I sold also. Before in stalling the sprocket on my piped and jetted ride I could run with a Banshee through 3 full gears and when I shifted to 4th gear I could look over to see the Banshee passing me and then checking on out. After cutting my case guard and installing the sprocket, I would pull out along-side the Banshee and he would immediately start pulling away and my top end speed did'nt matter because I had no-one to race when I finally got up to full speed. Just my .02 cents.
