how do you like YOUR 400EX?

also, was there anything dramatically wrong with the 99s and 00s? cause thats most likely what we're going to get due to the fact that we cant afford newer. would there be anything wrong with getting an older one?

They've only done a few minor mods to the 400EX from the '99 to the '04 models so I wouldn't be concerned about getting an older one. You can find quite a few of them for under $2500 back east, but on our end of the country they go for a bit higher. I did see one sell for $2300 in UT not to long ago, so they do come around now and then. You can pick up a basic 440 kit for around $500 including the cam and boring for the bigger sleeve. If you want to go a bit cheaper you can do a 416 kit with a good cam and see an impressive gain as well, for around $350. Both these prices are assuming you do the assembly. Of course if you really want to hop it up it'll cost a bit more.

also, can you guys tell me some things about 400exs? like are they 5 or 6 speed? do they have reverse? are they electric start? are they pretty light quads? cause its gonna be quite a difference if theyre over 400lbs, considering my blaster weighs in at around 325( i thik lol)

You will love the 400EX, i have owned 2 since 99, they are light, the 300's are heavier then the 400's, they are 5 speed, in my opinion could use a 6th but if you dont do any road riding you wont miss it, They are electric start and they are plenty powerful even if u never mod it.
