I looooove my 400ex!! It does soo good in the dunes and trails. It's a 2004 though so it's new. The 99 400ex's i heard they're carbs crack so if u can get a 00'. They weigh 375 which isn't too bad. 5 speed electric start, and no reverse. They are sooooooo nice though get one. You can pick one up for around 2500 but take it for a ride and make sure it feels ok. But get one!!!

Yeah...they are Great all purpose quads. Great on the track, sand or woods!
Very reliable with bulletproof engines + tons of aftermarket upgrades!
I really love my 2000 400EX especially now with my 2005 TRX conversion kit!
Kits will be available in mid January!

The newer models which are the 2005's do have the reverse, but lower than that they don't have reverse, but who cares, you're use to pulling your blaster back anyways right?

 

hahaha.... lol, i was just wondering, in fact i dont want reverse, it'd be just holding my top speed down[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] you dont know how many times ive had to push my blaster up a 1 1/2 mile hill cause i fouled my plug...(maybe someone does?? ) i know i need to clean up the jetting.

 

i love my 400ex but if its cold out and you want to ride it choke it or you'll foul the plug but other then that great trail machine but make sure you know what your doing and don't get stuck somewhere with out reverse, powers great with a pipe filter and jet just makes the package sweeter and if your into ground stunts its the quad for you
