Default Rust spots on new Hondas at dealer

I've seen it mentioned previously somewhere on this (maybe another) forum, but today I was fondling the new Hondas and noticed rust spots on the plastic fenders! These obviously came from the steel racks; after washing, the water that got inside the racks rusted the steel and came out as rusty drips. If I was Honda, I'd be embarrassed. I've been wondering if I bought one of these, how would I stop it? (The rust, not the quad; it has new disc brakes!!!)

It is not just Honda either. I have seen the rust drips that you describe on Suzuki, Yamaha, & Polaris as well
