Default make the 400ex quicker

i will be installing it myself. i run a sparks x-6 pipe. i have a sparks 8 plate clutch too. i do not mind losing a bit of low end power by raising the gearing but my bike is quite a bit slower in 4th and 5th gears with taller gearing. i have a feeling it is from my x-6. this pipe likes low gearing so you can always stay near the rev limiter. it does not produce torque. it runs just fine in the lower gears but once you get into the upper gears the power starts fading out. which it makes sense because it is a lot harder to pull the upper gears than it is to pull the lower ones. what is the deal with the je superlight pistons? i am only familiar with the je pistons. the engine builders i talk to say i will get a very minimal gain, if any, out of larger valves. i also have a lightened flywheel. however, my bike is several bike lengths slower with it on. i then contacted some builders and they mentioned in drag racing it will be slower. i wish i knew that before i bought it. however, it is nice for trails or riders who don't run it up past the rev limiter. it revs quick at lower rpms but slows you down drag racing. this is just a mod that isnt' for my style of riding. i am not sure what to think. i know balancing is very important with the strokers. however, i am not sure what that involves. i am thinking about mickeys 500 kit but reliability is very important too. hmm....
