When I put the twist throttle on my 250R, the light carburator return spring made the throttle difficult to use and hold steady. I couldn't help but think that many people didn't like twist throttles for the same reason. My solution was to install a return spring from an 88 CR250(dirt bike) and now it has the feel that I was looking for. If you didn't like your twister in the past, you might want to give that a try. I know it is personal preference, but being a former motocross bike racer/rider, I like the twist.
