Default Thumb Throttle vs. Twist Throttle

Most guys here will tell you "thumb for ATV's, twist for dirtbikes"
And the twist can be dangerous in rocky/rough terrain.

oh yeah, and thumb throttles are harder on racers and wear you out quicker on longer rides....but I havent had that problem.

I never liked twist because the position of your wrist and the you dont have the same control as you do with a tumb.

i wouldn't mind either one, but the thumb is the only thing being used to give her gas, on the other hand your entire hand twists the grip, Can be bad for your wrists, but i don't know.

Default Thumb Throttle vs. Twist Throttle

I got rid of the twist that came on my 250R and installed thumb. Between Christmas and New years I tried to get used to it, but wasn't able too. Then in Feb. decided to try again. I almost killed myself in the whoops by the store, due to accelerating when I didn't want too. Then later that trip going over a dune hit a witches eye right at the top and launched over. No fun especially when you didn't mean to do it. Twist is long gone, never again will I ride an ATV with a twist. Thumbs only on ATV's.
My 2 cents+$3.49

I think it comes down to what you are used to. I cant stand thumb throttles, but I have ridden dirt bikes most of my life. The wife rode dirt bikes until a few years ago and she wants a twist throttle on her quad.

Default Thumb Throttle vs. Twist Throttle

all depends on the type of riding.

For aggressive riding the TWIST is the only one to use. Your thumb gets tired real quick.
